Early board layout
Ended up not using some of these components but here was the first draft of things.
New shop ready to go
Only about half finished, but we now have room to work on the raver trap again!
One year hiatus
Life got in the way, ended up missing the Burn in 2013 – buying a house and building a huge new shop.
Janky testing
Tested the motor controller with our janky temporary steering/throttle made from old stereo knobs. Throttle made more fun by the fact that full left isn’t stop, it’s full reverse : P

Probably shouldn’tve ordered everything right before leaving to Florida for a week!
Planning out mods
Planning out the mods to the frame to accomodate the bigger wheels and bigger batteries.

We left it quarantined in the shop just in case.
Got the armchair!
Here’s the armchair that we’ll be using, gotta raise it up enough that feet won’t be touching the ground. Super comfy, seems like it’ll hold up to playa. Free from back alley near commercial drive : )
The donor scooter
This is the donor electric mobility scooter frame that we’ll be using for the project. 24V, two electric motors – and it seems to draw about 60A on each if you tie it to the truck and do burnouts with someone standing on it.
We’ll be upgrading the batteries, putting in a completely new controller, rebuilding the frame, etc.
